A Customer’s Story: A Fresh Start for a Hyundai Tucson
When you change jobs, you want a fresh start. One of our customers, Lauren in St Kilda, felt the same way. She had left her old company and was about to start at a new one.
The problem was her car. Her Hyundai Tucson SUV still had the old company’s branding. It had big black-and-orange graphics on both sides and the back. She needed it gone so she could drive to her new workplace without advertising her old one.
She called us at Ted Car Detailing to bring her car back to its original clean, white look. We did the job right in her driveway in St Kilda with a two-person team.
What We Saw Before We Started
The signage on the Hyundai had been there for about four years. Even after all that time, the vinyl was still in pretty good shape. That meant most of it peeled off easily.
The graphics went across the doors, the back panels, and the tailgate. Some parts followed the sharp lines of the SUV’s body. Most of the vinyl came off without a problem, but a few spots were really stuck on. We had to be extra careful with those parts. If you pull too hard on old vinyl, you can leave a lot of sticky glue behind or even hurt the paint. So, we took our time with the tough spots.
How We Removed the Old Signage
We worked on one panel at a time. We paid special attention to the tricky areas around the door handles, edges, rear quarter panels, and tailgate. With two people working together, we finished the whole job in about three hours.
Once the big pieces of vinyl were gone, we still had to deal with the sticky glue left behind. We used a special adhesive dissolver we bought from Bunnings to remove it. After that, we cleaned the car and machine-polished the paint. This made the surface look great and helped remove the faint outline left by the old branding.
The Finished Result: Like It Never Happened
After we were done, the doors, rear quarter panels, and tailgate were all white again. There was no sign of the old signage shadow. The Hyundai was no longer a moving billboard for the customer’s former company. She could now drive it to her new job without any worries.
Lauren was so happy with how it turned out. She even left us a five-star Google review without us even asking for it! She said she loved our service and was really pleased with the result.
